Forestry Engineering

Since 2017, I’m studying Forestry Engineering at the University of Chile in the Faculty of Forestry Sciences and Nature Conservation.

I was always into the biology and nature theme. I passed from wanting to be a nurse to a biology licensed with an environment mention, but never knew about this engineering.

On 2015, my score on the PSU wasn’t as good as to be selected to the biology degree, so I preferred not to postulate to any career to study the next year and level up my score. But my mom, just after the online postulations were closed, made me read all the careers this university has because I needed to have more options in case I couldn’t enter the next year. While I was reading the list, I knew about the Forestry Engineering, I liked it instantly but as the online postulations were closed a few moments ago, I couldn’t enter and had to wait a year to do it.

I think that as a forestry student, we have a lot of benefits, such as all the fieldwork we do since we start, and it’s a beautiful career because we can get to understand how the species interact.
